Advantage and Disadvantage
Cost at THAI SMILE
Zirconia All Ceramic - Crown for all teeth Advantage The cost is depended on Brand's Name
<All Ceramic> - Bridge for all teeth - High strength of Zirconia
  - Abutment of Implant - The color is very similar to natural tooth.
    - The most compatible to human body Cercon (Germany), XY Tube(Germany),
compare to other restorative material. Lava(Germany)
      Crown : 12,000.00 THB/tooth
      Bridge : 12,000.00 - 14,000.00 THB/unit
    Disadvantage
    - Can not bond with the tooth. (But can be Procera Zirconia (Sweden)
fixed on the tooth by cement.) Crown : 30,000.00 THB/tooth
    - Not recommend to use for long span bridge. Bridge : 30,000.00 THB/tooth

Glass Ceramic - Crown for anterior teeth. Advantage The cost is depended on Brand's Name
Alumina oxide - Bridge for anterior teeth. - High strength but not very high. of Ceramic
Lithum Disilicate - Veneer - The color is very very similar to natural tooth.
<All Ceramic> - Crown for posterior teeth. - Very compatible to human body. Empress (Ivoclar, VivaDent, Germany)
  - Post and Core - Can be bonded to the tooth. Veneer : 7,500.00 - 9,000.00 THB/tooth
      Crown : 12,000.00 THB/tooth
    Disadvantage Bridge : 12,000.00 THB/tooth

- Hard but Brittle , can not be used for back tooth
in some situation. Procera Alumina/ Laminate (Sweden)
    - Not recommend to use for long span bridge. Veneer : 15,000.00 THB/tooth
      Crown : 18,000.00 THB/tooth
      Bridge : 20,000.00 THB/tooth

Gold alloy - Crown Advantage The cost is depended on gold alloy type
  - Bridge - High strength.
  - some part of - More fit on the tooth compare to other material. 51% - 54 % Gold alloy <Semi Precious Alloy>
  implant abutment - Flexible. - Crown : 12,000.00 THB/tooth
  - Post and Core - Not too hard. - Bridge : 12,000.00 - 14,000.00 THB/tooth
    - Less corrosion product compare to other kind of
    metal alloy. 79% - 88% Gold Alloy <High Precious Alloy>
    - Can be use for long bridge. - Crown : 15,000.00 THB/tooth
      - Bridge : 16,000.00 THB/tooth
    Disadvantage
    - The color is Gold sometimes silver (depended
on amount of gold in the alloy).
    - can be corroded by saliva and other fluid in the
    mouth (but very little).
    - Can Not be bonded to the tooth.
    - High cost.
    - No light transparency.
    - Less beautiful compare to all ceramic.

Non Precious alloy - Crown Advantage - Crown : 6,000.00 THB/tooth
<0-2% gold> - Bridge - lowest cost - Bridge : 6,000.00 THB/tooth
  - Post and Core - hard and high strength - Post and core : 3,000.00 THB/tooth

    Disadvantage
    - High corrosion product.
    - the metal alloy can release corrosion product
and stain on surrounding gum (gingiva).
    - The least compatible to human body.
    - No light transparency.
    - much less beautiful compare to all ceramic.
    - Can Not be bonded to the tooth.

Porcelian fused to Metal

- Crown Advantage The cost of Porcelain fused to metal crown is
(Metal alloy covered by - Bridge - lowest cost depended on metal alloy type.
porcelian/ceramic)   - hard and high strength at metal alloy part.
    - the look is better compare to full metal crown High precious alloy : 15,000.00 - 16,000.00 THB/tooth
PFM-Crown   because of ceramic/pocelain which covering. Semi precious alloy : 14,000.00 - 14,000.00 THB/tooth
    Non-Precious alloy : 6,000.00 THB/tooth
  Disadvantage
  - The porcelain/ceramic part can break off from
the metal alloy part quite easily.
  - High corrosion product.
  - the metal alloy can release corrosion product
and stain on surrounding gum (gingiva).
  - The least compatible to human body.
    - No light transparency.
    - less beautiful compare to all ceramic.
